Sebastiano Ranchetti is an artist, graphic designer and illustrator. His design career began in the early eighties in Germany, then on to London and later Florence. He has worked extensively in the publishing field with companies like Mondadori, Giunti, Castermann, Peter Bedrick and others. As art director for the international packager DoGi. he created the Contrasts book series, published in eight languages. In 2005 Sebastiano published his first project as author-illustrator, the series ot textless books Think in color. He continues to ideate and produce children’s books published in Italy and abroad. Laura Ottina has been working in the publishing and visual communication field since 1984. Her career has taken place between Rome, Milan, California and Florence, where she has worked as graphic designer, calligrapher, illustrator, iconographic researcher, editorial coordinator and art director. She has collaborated with numerous publishers, among them Mondadori, Giunti, Idea Libri, McRae Books, Mc Graw Hill, Dark Horse and Le Monnier. She currently teaches postgraduate graphic design courses at the Florence Institute of Design International. In 2006 we started Popdesign, a studio dedicated to graphic design, digital art and visual communication.  Under the Popdesign brand we also produce paper goods, digital prints, t-shirts and merchandising. We live in the Tuscan countryside with three teenage daughters, a cat and a dog. Our first official editorial collaboration, Meet the Animals, a series in six volumes introducing children to animals and their environments, was published in Italy in the fall of 2008 and will be released in 2009 in the US, France and Korea.
